This municipal infrastructure project extends Carver Street from Danube Lane to the intersection of Old Oxford Highway and Hamlin Road, improving connectivity and traffic flow in northern Durham. Intersection upgrades at both termini were designed to enhance safety and accommodate increased vehicular movement.
A standout feature of the project is its innovative approach to stormwater management. The design incorporates a unique sheet flow treatment system within the median—an environmentally conscious solution that filters runoff through vegetated surfaces, reducing pollutant loads before entering the watershed.
