About the Role

Manage staff and provide mentoring for junior staff
Oversees the design of Land Development projects, providing leadership to junior staff. Promotes, establishes, and assures quality on all projects and work performed by our team; assigns personnel to project teams; monitors and manages project tasks and schedules to ensure projects are completed on budget and schedule; performs technical reviews of project documents; and supervises junior staff.
Manage the production of technical calculations, conceptual and detailed design drawings for site plan, construction drawing, and permitting packages
Manage research and preparation of engineering reports for stormwater management, storm drainage, erosion control, and others as needed
Manage the preparation of local, state, and federal permit applications to support the project;
Assist Project Managers on project related tasks;
Analyze technical problems, develop new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions;
Focus on quality and ensure the QA/QC process is followed;
Communicate with PM’s and technical staff to understand project scope of work, schedule, and budget;
Participate in or lead team/project meetings;
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management
Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as a project engineer or engineering intern

  • A valid NC Professional Engineering (PE) license is required

  • Highly detail oriented and possess excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members

  • Strong time management and analytical skills

  • Effective Client Relations and public speaking capabilities

  • Effective written communication skills

  • Possess a focus on quality and the ability to perform quality control review

  • AutoCAD Civil3D proficiency is required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel. Bluebeam REVU desired

  • Able to work independently and manage/schedule a team

About the Company

Qunity, a well-respected Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture firm in Durham, NC is seeking a full time Civil Engineering Project Coordinator with a minimum of seven years of Land Development experience to our team immediately. The position will work in conjunction with a Landscape Architecture Project Coordinator to assist with the management of a Land Development team, report to an Assistant Vice President, and will contribute technically to the success of projects and design teams.
