Family Fare Convenience Stores serve communities across North Carolina by providing quality products and fuel for customers on the go. Headquartered in Durham, the company has partnered with our team to develop over 15 locations throughout North Carolina and Virginia.

One notable project is the Family Fare store located at the intersection of Hope Valley Road and Garrett Road in South Durham—a high-traffic area with significant pedestrian and vehicular movement. Our design team collaborated closely with the client to optimize site layout, ensuring smooth traffic flow while maintaining safe and accessible spacing around fueling stations. We also addressed the challenges posed by increased impervious surfaces through strategic site planning.

To enhance the site’s functionality, our Project Manager coordinated the acquisition of adjacent land parcels from a neighboring church, carefully balancing the needs of both the store and the church by preserving essential access routes. Additionally, our Stormwater Engineers partnered with StormTrap to design and implement underground sand filters, effectively managing and treating stormwater runoff in compliance with environmental standards.
